Presentation for the Character Design course at CSULB.
THAT CLASS WAS AWESOME!!!
I actually think it helped me improve a bit!
We were given a theme for the characters and that theme was Beauty and the Beast. We were to design our own characters based on this theme, so I based my version is based on the Spanish tale of Cuelebre. As it says in the image, a beautiful but vain maiden is cursed and turned into a dragon. Her spell can only be broken by a true knight so brave and pure-hearted he does not fear her and finds her beautiful. In a nutshell, that's all there is to the original tale. I expanded upon it by creating a character who would fit the reverse role of Beauty. I also created animal companions for both. Hernan is aspiring to become a knight and hopes to prove himself to others while Cuelebre hides in the shadows ashamed of her appearance and fearing the world. When their worlds collide, there is conflict at first. Then there is understanding and a change of heart. Finally friendship is fully bloomed with room for love.
Though this is for a class, I do intend to do something with these characters and work more on my version of the Cuelebre story.

Very nice characters, I like the story you created. Well the story behind the Dragon Lady reminds me a little of 'The beauty and the Beast' but that's OK. It's still a very original design you developed.
I think the two make a very nice couple, I especially like the picture in the middle and the lower right corner The idea with the dress formed by her wings is very nice.
The way you describe the characters you make it very easy for me to imagine the behaviour of them and with the pictures I already have some very interesting szenes in my head.
Looking forward to hopefully see more of them! Greetings, Selunia
Hi! ^^ It's me again from #FeedbackFrenzy!! First of all, I'll have to say that you choose an interesting tale to convert into a comic. It will be fun to see how they meet each other and begin to form a relationship! I like the knight's design. He seems simple and honest, while at the same time handsome and strong. However, I don't really like the woman-dragon's design. Of course, this is simply my opinion. But I think she is far too feminine and human-like. Pink isn't really impressive for a dragon, nor do all women love pink. Apart from that, her body is clearly human-like: the way her legs fold, her knees work, her wrists, her palms, even her butt XD Basically she looks like a humanized dragon, and not an actual monster. It sould be far harder for the knight (and therefore, a far more interesting story for the readers), if she was downright UGLY and non-humanly in any way. But as I said, that's just my opinion. The drawing where he dances with her is very funny and cute!!! Keep drawing!
